About Us

Celebration magazine was founded in 1972 with the conviction that doing justice, restoring unity and healing divisions lay at the heart of our worship. Celebration helps readers to enhance and deepen worship and parish life by providing a diverse array of content in a monthly magazine format. We operate out of a Roman Catholic tradition and an ecumenical spirit, and are committed to the development of liturgical planning resources and other spiritually enhancing and community-enriching publications.

Scripture reflections, scripture commentary, preaching resources, music suggestions and useful graphics are just some of what Celebration can offer readers to aid in liturgical planning. Our knowledgeable group of contributors offers diverse skills and experiences from decades of ministry experience.

Celebration Publications is a division of The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company. The division complements the company's award winning publication, National Catholic Reporter, founded in 1964, which reports, comments and reflects on the church and society. The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company is a recipient of the Catholic Press Association's general excellence award for 13 of the last 14 years.

The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company is a Kansas City, Missouri-based nonprofit corporation. NCR is an independent organization and is not affiliated with any diocese or other official arm of the Roman Catholic Church, nor with any group or organization.

What others are saying about Celebration

"Celebration is an essential resource for liturgical leaders who believe that the liturgy is the “source and summit” of the Church’s life and recognize that Sunday Eucharist is the heartbeat of parish life. Every month Celebration offers its subscribers “big picture” reflections on liturgy, spirituality, and Christian life along with resources for weekly liturgy preparation--background on the Sunday scriptures, preaching ideas, music suggestions, prayer texts, and more."

-Dr. J. Michael McMahon
President, National Association of Pastoral Musicians
